This is my Forgeworld Death Guard Dreadnought. Hes a fat fucker and thats for sure.
For those of you who are not familiar with the Warhammer 40,000 universe, a Dreadnought is piloted by a mighty warrior who has been saved from death by his internment within its armoured sarcophagus. In this way the warrior can continue to vanquish the foes of the Emperor for many centuries, or even millennia. Spearheading the assaults of the Space Marines, Dreadnoughts are feared by all foes of the Imperium. On the battlefield they are death incarnate, with powerful weapons blasting their foes and lethal close combat weaponry crackling with deadly energies. There are few opponents in the galaxy who can stand against such armoured savagery. Standing three times the height of a man, Space Marine Dreadnoughts are amongst the oldest war machines fighting on the battlefields of the 41st millennium. Some Dreadnoughts are even said to date back tens of thousands of years to the Great Crusade, when the Emperor himself walked amongst his people. Whilst in the Imperium the Dreadnought is a living icon venerating a great warrior from the past, in the Chaos Legions the Dreadnought is a symbol of the unending pain and torment of the damned. The occupants of these infernal sarcophagi are kept alive but are in constant howling agony. Inevitable insanity does not curb the pain and within each machine the Chaos Space Marine rages against the world outside, a terrifying and unpredictable beast that needs to be shackled when not in battle. Right, all that blurb aside, i loved painting this mini because it let me just go to town on the gribbly details and horrible-ness that is a nurgle model ^^ I especially love the 3 eyes on its right side. Full sie, comment, you know the drill. Comments
Ooooh... Forgeworld-y goodness! I love the paintjob. But the whole is let down by the base, which looks rather too plain and unplague-y. Have you painted the base?
You've inspired me to do some Nurgle-related sketches when my children next give me five seconds to think about it... Keep an eye on my gallery. If you camera has a Macro setting, you'll be able to get super clear pictures of little things like this :3 It's usually a little flower, or face symbol somewhere on the camera settings. If you have a super old camera, just set the exposure slower. That would help <3
I always loved these little guys~! I have a few myself, but I've never even attempted painting them lol. I don't even know how to play the game or anything, but I like to have little battles with them none-the-less -- ♥------- ( ´ ・ ω ・ ) つ ( ・ ( ・ ) "A GENTLE TOUCH ON THE YOUNG DRAGON'S BREASTS." |
